Finishing Options

It's All About The Details

The printing of your design is just the beginning! The finishing details of your project bring everything together, like a camera clicking into focus. No matter what your project calls for, we have the experience and attention to detail to make it happen. Any (or all) of these services can be tailored to fit the needs of your design.

Edge Painting

Edge painting is exactly what it sounds like –  we apply paint to the edges of the print to add either a pop of color or a finished edge that coordinates with the printing. We can closely coordinate the edge paint to any Pantone color or metallic shade. Edge painting works best on thicker papers, giving more surface area on the edge for the paint to really shine.

Duplexing

Duplexing is the process of making a paper thicker by gluing more than one sheet of paper together. We can duplex the same paper together to allow for a deep printing impression on both sides of a card or invitation, along with gluing different colors or textures of paper together to create layers. Triplexing (or quadplexing, etc) involves using a different colored sheet of paper between two outer sheets to give a pop of color. The possibilities are practically endless!

Die-Cutting

If your project calls for a unique shape, then die-cutting is the process for you. Using either one of our dozens of stock dies or your own custom die that we have made to order, we can precisely cut each piece into the perfect shape. Die cutting can also be used for rounded or scalloped corners.

Laser Cutting

Our hundred watt laser is useful for one-off diecutting prototypes or for cut paper creations. It can cut and engrave paper, acrylic, wood, or various other materials. While it can’t cut metal, it can be used to mark anodized aluminum or other metals treated with a special coating. We’re always looking for new ideas to use this technology for projects, so please let us know if you have anything you’ve been wanting to try.

Eyeletting

Metal eyelets can be used in a variety of ways. While they are mostly used to strengthen the hole in hang tags, eyelets can also be used to attach different pieces of a wedding suite together, each piece held together but moveable. Eyelets come in a variety of colors and sizes.

Scoring

Scoring uses metallic scoring plates to create a clean crease, allowing for an easy and uniform fold. Scoring is excellent for creating folded cards, gate-folds, z-folds, and belly bands, along with numerous other possibilities.

Assembly

We spend the time putting together your project so you don’t have to!

Some of the services available are hand-lining envelopes, invitation assembly, hand-tying string or ribbon, rivet or grommet punching, and assembling pockets.
