Letterpress Wedding Invitations on Textured Paper with Wax Seal

Catrina and Leonardo’s Textural and Modern Letterpress Wedding Invitations

Hi! My name is Alyssa, founder and stationery designer at Alyssa Amez Design. Alyssa Amez Design is a custom, intentional design and upscale stationery studio that focuses on the finest materials and finishing touches to elevate your special event.

I’ve worked with Rise & Shine Letterpress for almost a year now, and looking back, it’s one of the best business decisions I’ve made. For this project, as well as all others, Rise and Shine does more than just spearhead the printing efforts; they also help to finetune the specifics and dimensions, test the concept, and finish any assembly or production needed. When Catrina and Leonardo approached me, I couldn’t wait to share this concept with the team at Rise and Shine – Ryan, Amber, and Leslie.

A little about my process: I value the importance and the beauty of a one-of-a-kind design; details that tell a story through the intricate, intentional and unique parts of my client’s love story. My custom design and stationery process is a highly exclusive and intimate experience, where you will work directly with me, my team (Rise & Shine) from inquiry to hand-assembly to create intentional design and upscale stationery for your wedding event. I encourage new and challenging ideas / concepts, love a collaborative relationship with my clients, and most importantly, share a passion for the little details.

Letterpress Save The Date on Arturo with Wax Seal

Together, we worked on both the save the dates, as well as the wedding invitations for Catrina and Leonardo’s upcoming wedding at the Garden Theater in Detroit, Michigan. The stationery pieces were inspired and influenced by the distinguishable texture of the venue space, the dantiness of the floral elements that are a part of the event design, and modern and chic touches to best suit the personal preferences.

For the save the dates, we used shades of warm grey ink on my absolute new favorite paper, Arturo in a double-thick 600gsm weight. To finish, I added a vellum wax seal with baby’s breath flakes pressed within.

For the wedding invitations, we carried out the same color and design theme, but added more luxurious elements to really make these stand out! The combination of letterpress printing and blind debossing on the main invitation brought in the modern and chic notes, with the daintiness of the wax seal design to tie in the floral design. The handmade paper details card added softness, as well as the vellum wrap to hold the suite together.

I can’t tell you how much I love them, they are so beautiful.– Catrina Stephan (client)

This was a very hands-on project, with complicated printing methods and I couldn’t have done it without the expertise, guidance, and support from Rise and Shine Letterpress!
